Bearings

The printing unit is the heart of a sheet-fed offset printing press. The colour is transferred to the paper sheet by means of a plate cylinder, blanket cylinder, impression cylinder as well as ink and damping rollers. Transfer cylinders and transfer drums feed the paper sheets from one printing unit to the other. Many cylindrical bearings require a backlash and friction-free function, to ensure a smooth paper feeding and an uniform ink distribution, at printing speeds up to 18,000 sheets/hour. LUBCON bearing greases for the cylinder bearing lubrication in printing machines offer a high load carrying capacity and very good lubricity at high speeds. They reduce thus bearing forces, vibration, friction as well as wear and have positive effects on the printing image quality.

Roller and journal bearings

Turmogrease L 802 EP plus

Bearing grease with best load carrying capacity. The Li special-soap thickener protects bearing surfaces against contamination and corrosion. The product has high performance stability and is particularly suitable for the main shaft bearings in printing machines.

Turmosynthgrease ALN 1002

Bearing grease with NSF/H1 food-grade registration for the roller and journal bearing lubrication in printing machines. It has a high load carrying capacity and is suitable across a wide temperature range of 40 °C up to +140 °C. The special grease is suitable for lubrication with central lubrication systems or manual grease guns.

Roller and journal bearings (central lubrication)

Turmogrease LC 802 EP

The, by web-press machine manufacturers successfully utilized, lithium-calcium soap grease is a combination of base oils and additives. It optimises general lubrication properties such as corrosion, non-ferrous metal and ageing protection, lubricant-film stability, high and low temperature behaviour and is especially suitable for the use in central lubrication systems. It shows a good pumpability, even through tight passages, without changing its lubricant properties.
