Increasing conveyor speeds and higher temperatures, coupled with reduced maintenance, requires advanced solutions for conveyor chains in order to minimise oil consumption and maximise chain service life. The automatic lubrication systems
TLB 2000 and VRDS for the lubrication of chain pins, bushings, links and conveyors have been designed to meet the requirements of modern manufacturing environments. Accurate control of chain oil quantities avoids over lubrication and prevents the potential contamination of the finished product such as cans, bottles and food packaging.

Impulse programme

The individual chain links are detected numerically by sensors. The optimum lubricant quantity is applied in form of drops directly to the lubrication point. The lubrication is applied during one complete conveyor chain cycle. This is followed by a selected number of unlubricated chain running cycles.

Time programme

The lubrication is realised by means of a time controlled program. The control unit records the conveyor chain cycle time and applies the lubricant via electronic valves during this determined time period.

Cycle programme

The cycle programme allows the reliable lubrication of fast running chains, with different cycle periods. A reference chain link is detected by a sensor and the chain drive is monitored. The chain is lubricated for one cycle; subsequently a configured number of cycles are processed without lubrication.

The heart of the TLB 2000® automatic chain lubricator consists of the electronic control unit, the lubricant container and an integrated gear pump. Various container sizes are available ranging from 20, 45 to 200 l volume. To eliminate initial oxidation of base oil and to generate more constant oil pressure a gear pump is utilized instead of the conventional pressurized air systems. The oil is pumped at constant pressure through individually arranged hoses to every single lubrication position.

The precise application and dosage of the lubricant is controlled by the electronic control unit which has four independent channels. A different programme can be selected per channel:
